(1) The diameter of the elbow module D will be rebound after the external force is canceled, so the diameter of the elbow module should be less than twice the radius of curvature of the elbow. The value is calculated according to the following empirical formula.

(2) The arc radius r and the rounding radius r 1 are different due to the relative bending radius ε (ε=R 0 /d). The purpose is to strengthen the curved wall of the steel pipe to avoid wrinkles. Can be calculated as follows:

r=Kd/2, where K is a coefficient determined by the relative bending radius ε, when ε≥3.5, K=1; when ε<3.5, K=1-0.1/(10ε 3 )

The rounding radius r 1 can be taken as 1 to 2 mm, ε hours, and r 1 takes a small value. When ε ≥ 3.5, the diameter of the steel pipe d is small, and r 1 takes a small value; when the diameter d of the steel pipe is large, r 1 takes a large value.

(3) Material and surface roughness value The elbow module can be made of 45 steel or 50 steel. When the diameter is large, it can also be made of HT200. In order to create favorable conditions for uniform compression of the inner edge of the elbow, the surface roughness value of the arc groove surface of the elbow module is preferably R a ≤ 3.2 μm.

2. Rolling roller

As shown in Figure 4, in order to prevent the surface of the steel pipe from being scratched during the bending process, it is necessary to round the edge of the arc groove. Generally, the radius of the rounding is r 1 = 0.5 to 1 mm, so that the surface of the steel pipe is not scratched.

As single row angular contact ball bearings can only support axial load in single direction, matched bearing mounting is often adopted to them as matched parts of bearings, preload for them is more convenient.
