Recently, the European SOIMON R&D team has developed a new rapid detection device for soil pollution on the basis of the EU's Seventh Research and Development Framework Program (FP7), which enables faster and lower-cost detection of soil contamination.
It is reported that the R&D team consists of seven innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in the six member states of the European Union, Croatia (total coordination), the United Kingdom (former EU member states), the Netherlands, Denmark, Greece and Tunisia.
The device is composed of various types of detectors and sensors. It uses radiation detection and sensing technology to effectively detect and analyze heavy metal pollution and volatile organic compounds in the soil, and achieve on-site sampling, on-site analysis and results. In addition, the R&D team integrates the detector and sensor into the sonic vibrating drill pipe, and at the same time increases the damping system to reduce the interference of the vibration on the electronic sensing device and improve the detection accuracy.
The device has the advantages of low cost, speed and high efficiency, and has been evaluated by the European Commission's independent peer expert group.
