Technical search personnel mainly use sonic / seismic monitoring equipment to search the affected area. If necessary, optical fiber equipment, infrared thermal imaging equipment (if conditions permit), or other equipment will also be used for searching.

Technical search personnel search the disaster area and summarize the situation, mark notable information, and then report the information to the search and rescue operation headquarters.

To use sound / vibration monitoring equipment, at least two detectors need to be deployed around the building or cavity.

Light guide imaging equipment can accurately and effectively locate survivors in the collapsed building cavity, especially when used with concrete hammers / drills.

Search and rescue personnel can drill a series of observation holes on the surface of the collapsed building (such as a floor slab), and the search personnel then use light guide imaging equipment for rapid detection.

Because the light guide imaging device can clearly see the survivors, there is usually no need for a second confirmation. If the operator of the light guide imaging device needs to continue to search other areas, a red warning line should be used to mark the survivors in this area. The marked information should be submitted to the search and rescue operation headquarters as soon as possible, and the rescue unit immediately starts the rescue operation.

The operator of the light guide imaging device should analyze the terrain and structural characteristics of the searched area, and mark any available information to facilitate the reference of subsequent search actions.
