Some masks have poor dust protection

The quality requirements for masks of other types with nominal protective functions are relatively confusing. Some perform medical mask standards, some implement industrial dust mask standards, and some implement corporate standards, while others do not have any implementation standards.

In the most consumer-recognized mask filtering efficiency monitoring test, the measured value of the filtering efficiency of the 24 batches of masks was lower than the 90% minimum requirement specified in the standard; the measured value of the filtering efficiency of 1 batch of masks was lower than the stated 95% requirement. 21 batches of product labels are not labeled with filter grades; 6 batches of unmarked product implementation standards. In the products with low filtration efficiency, the measured value of the filtering efficiency of many masks is surprisingly low. For example, the test result of Yixin SC600C ordinary polyester dust respirator distributed by Putuo Branch of Jinjiang Metro Co., Ltd. is “0.0”.

May wear "skin problems"

The 38 batches of masks monitored this time did not exceed the standard in the total number of bacterial colonies, coliform bacteria, pathogenic pyogenic bacteria, and the total number of fungal colonies. However, in 13 batches of cotton fabrics, gauze and other textile fabric masks, the measured value of 6 batches of fabrics or linings exceeded the standard values.

At present, relevant risk monitoring results have been informed of production companies, distribution companies and their local quality and technical supervision departments, supervise enterprises to regulate production, and strengthen product quality control. At the same time, the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau has reported the quality and safety risk information of mask products to relevant departments and recommended that relevant national standards be issued as soon as possible.
