Chen Deming said that in order to maintain the stability of foreign trade policy, the Ministry of Commerce is working with relevant departments to study policies and measures to stabilize foreign trade growth, ease corporate financial pressure, increase fiscal and taxation policy support, improve export credit risk protection mechanisms, and maintain a stable exchange rate. We will support foreign trade enterprises in dealing with trade frictions and improving the level of trade facilitation. At the same time, we will pay more attention to supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in January this year, China’s foreign trade import and export value totaled US$272.6 billion, down 7.8% year-on-year. Of this total, exports were US$149.94 billion, down 0.5%; imports were US$122.66 billion, down 15.3%. China's import and export growth rate both showed negative year-on-year growth, hitting a new low of more than two years.
