Sinochem Xinxun As of January 10, the PHF-101 ultra-low* diesel hydrofining catalyst jointly developed by CNPC Petrochemical Research Institute and China University of Petroleum (Beijing) was applied to 2 million tons/year of Urumqi Petrochemical Company. On the diesel hydrorefining unit, it will run smoothly for 45 days. The results show that all the indicators of the products meet the national V clean diesel quality standards, indicating that the clean diesel production technology has made a major breakthrough, and the diesel hydrofining technology with completely independent intellectual property rights has reached the international advanced level.
PHF-101 ultra-low* diesel hydrofining catalyst is the first catalyst independently developed by CNPC for the production of clean diesel in China V. On November 8, 2011, Wuxi Petrochemical began loading, drying, and catalyzing the catalyst. On November 27th, the mixed raw materials were switched. After 10 hours, qualified products were produced, and the refined diesel* content reached the National IV diesel standard. By optimizing the operating conditions, the refined diesel* content reaches the national V quality standard.
China Petroleum attaches great importance to the upgrading of oil quality and regards it as the top priority of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†work. The Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals, which is directly subordinate to the refining and chemical research institute, has listed this work as a “Tian Zi Hao†project. The researchers of the Petrochemical Institute have worked hard for seven years and adopted a functional, efficient and structurally-structured carrier preparation technology to successfully develop a PHF-101 clean diesel hydrotreating catalyst capable of producing the National V Standard.
After Daqing Petrochemical Company's new 1.2 million-ton/year diesel hydrorefining equipment product reached State IV in September 2010, Wuxi Petrochemical's 2 million-ton/year diesel hydrorefining plant products reached the national V standard, marking the clean diesel production of China Petroleum. Technology is mature.
It is understood that domestic diesel consumption in 2010 was 140 million tons, and continued to increase at a rate of 5% to 6% per year. As the pollutants emitted by diesel consumption account for more than 40% of the total atmospheric pollutants, the pollution caused to the environment will continue to increase as the consumption of diesel fuel increases year by year. In order to control environmental pollution and improve the quality of diesel, China has successively established the national III and national IV diesel standards that are equivalent to Euro III and Euro IV standards, and impose stringent requirements on the diesel fuel* content, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon content, and cetane number. Clean fuel production has caused widespread concern in the society. The upgrading of diesel quality has become one of the top priorities of the current refining and chemical companies.
