As a new two-dimensional nanomaterial, graphene has important application prospects in the field of heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings. Although graphene-based heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings have been focused on related industries in recent years, they have not yet achieved large-scale practical application. The main reason is that: so far no complete coating system has been formed; lack of comprehensive performance assessment and long-term service assessment of actual conditions; lack of a detailed dedicated database and related coating standards; graphene costs are relatively high.
In response to common technical problems in the application of graphene-based heavy-duty coatings, the research team teamed up with Liu Zhaoping team and Ningbo Mexi Science and Technology Co., Ltd. to collaborate on innovation and cooperation to develop special graphene composite powders and slurries for heavy-duty anti-corrosion protection, focusing on the breakthrough of graphene and The composite technology of other functions of micro-nano fillers; in cooperation with paint manufacturers and anti-corrosion engineering companies, through the coating system, creatively solves the major problems of paint with rust coating and the long-life weatherability of marine coupling environment, and develops core issues. A key process formula with independent intellectual property rights was developed to achieve a low-cost, stable mass production of graphene-based heavy-duty coatings.
To meet the needs of different applications, Ningbo Materials has successfully developed a series of graphene (white graphene) based coastal oil tank heavy anti-corrosion coatings, anti-static anti-corrosion coatings, power grid tower anti-corrosion coating, photovoltaic tower anti-corrosion coating, seawater anti-corrosion Eight major series of anticorrosive and wear-resistant paints such as coatings and aerospace defense special coatings. Graphene-based heavy-duty coatings have passed third-party testing such as a 5,000-hour salt spray test, 2000-hour 5% H2SO4, and 2000-hour 5% NaCl immersion.
For the current storage stability of graphene-based heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating system, the technical performance of the engineering construction, the stability of the coating, etc. have not yet been fully verified by the application of the project, Ningbo Institute of Materials Ningbo Electric Power Company and Zhejiang Haiyan Power Company Large-scale demonstration and application were carried out on large-scale transmission towers and substations, laying the foundation for the long-term safe operation of power transmission and transformation infrastructure under the “One Belt, One Road†high-humidity and heat environment.
In the area of ​​dedicated database construction, the team took on the special task of the National Material Environment Corrosion Platform and took the lead in the construction of the “Special Database of Graphene Environmental Corrosionâ€, accumulating graphene coatings in the marine atmosphere through accelerating damage tests and application demonstrations. The experimental data and environmental damage data provide data support and scientific basis for the application and promotion of graphene coatings in related fields, and promote the development of new materials technology and theory for surface protection of graphene in China.
