The importance of on-site safety cannot be overemphasized, allowing rescue workers to complete the rescue mission. There are many factors that affect the safety of the site. It must be remembered that each rescue site is dynamic and constantly changing. This means constantly assessing and handling hazards to ensure the safety of the operating environment.

Problems affecting on-site safety:

Operating environment risk factors

Potential physical hazards caused by the direct environment, such as

1 uneven ground

2. Live road facilities

3 , unstable buildings / trees

Vehicle risk factors

Potential hazards caused by damaged vehicles, such as

1, broken glass / sharp edges

2 , liquid overflow / leakage

3 , vehicle instability

Dynamic risk factors

The changing factors in the rescue process, such as

1 , weather conditions / tide / fire risk

2 , vehicle stability

3 , vehicle structure (results of creating space)

Injury risk factors

Problems caused by injuries, such as

1 , blood and body fluids

2. The injured may be resistant (due to head injuries)

3 , the injured may lead to lifting problems due to obesity

! After all-round investigations have been made and all risk factors have been identified and notified, rescue work can only be carried out.

! The dynamic, safety-impacting problems at the scene of the rescue are constantly changing and therefore require continuous assessment.
