On June 7, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice on the release of total tungsten production control targets for 2017. In 2017, total tungsten production was controlled at 91,300 tons.
The notice stated that tungsten is a product that the country implements total production control and management, and any enterprise must produce without indicators and super-indicators. The provincial industrial authorities shall promptly decompose the indicators issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information into production enterprises, and the right to allocate indicators shall not be decentralized, and no additional indicators may be added.
The total production control index should be issued to enterprises that meet the national tungsten industry policy and industry planning requirements and have mining licenses. The indicators should be inclined to key enterprises that meet the requirements of environmental protection, advanced technology and equipment, and high technical level. Enterprises that exceed the target production and have environmental pollution and safety hazards must reduce or cancel indicators.
When the provincial (district) industrial authorities issue indicators, they should communicate well with the local land and resources authorities, implement the indicators in a timely manner, and formulate monthly plans.
The notice requires that local industrial authorities should implement industrial management responsibilities step by step, earnestly implement relevant documents, and check the implementation of the plan on a monthly basis. For enterprises without index or super-index production, they must immediately order the suspension of production, and punish the illegal acquisition and sales of enterprises according to law.
