Fuzhou Customs statistics show that in the first seven months of this year, timber imports from Fujian Province increased significantly, with a total of 2,065,000 cubic meters of logs imported, an increase of 87.7% over the same period of last year, and a value of US$350 million, an increase of 1.1 times year-on-year.
In the first 7 months, the import of logs from Fujian was mainly based on general trade methods. A total of 2.052 million cubic meters of logs were imported, an increase of 90.3%, accounting for 99.4% of the total timber imports in the province during the same period. The main sources of imports are New Zealand, Canada, the United States and Australia.
