Spandex fiber and its products are currently the mainstream products of elastic fabrics, but some of its own defects such as easy to reveal white, difficult to control production, high prices, has increasingly become a bottleneck to improve product quality.

The new polyester PTT fiber, together with spandex, is a polyester fiber that combines the properties of polyester and nylon, and has exceptionally good flexibility and elastic recovery. It is easy to dye and is suitable for the development of high-end apparel and functional fabrics. As a raw material for industrialized production of PTT, it has partially escaped the constraints of petroleum resources and can partially solve the problems of petrochemical resource crisis and environmental pollution. Therefore, in the near future, PTT fiber will gradually replace polyester, nylon and spandex and become a large new fiber in the 21st century, representing a new trend in the development of chemical fiber in this century.

According to reports, the development of domestic PTT fiber textile market is still in a stage of being understood and accepted. Some common technologies still need to be tackled, thus resulting in the phenomenon of high price of PTT textiles after the market, which has great market prospects.

With the joint efforts of the three research units, the development of common technologies such as spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing, and fabric design for this new type of fiber has been carried out for six years in two years. It is understood that the successful development of this project will allow us to develop some typical high value-added, high-performance textile products, increase the added value of textile products and competitiveness in the international market, and increase the substitution rate of imported high-grade fabrics.

At present, fiber products have been sold to Haining, Wujiang and other places, elastic fabrics, also exported to the United States and the European Union market.
