The reporter learned from a high-level expert meeting on the industrialization of new varieties of GMOs held in Beijing on February 26th. “At present, there are more than 100 species of genetically modified organisms that China is researching and developing, involving animals, plants, and microbial genes. Multiple, several crop varieties already have industrialization conditions."
By chance, I found a large number of papers on GM project papers including: corn, wheat, rice, soybeans, peanuts, cucumbers, sweet peppers, sugarcane, beets, Chinese cabbage, watermelon, citrus, grapes, apples, Pears, strawberries, kiwis, fruit trees, lilies, medicinal plants, rape, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetables, potatoes, cabbage, peppers, brassica plants, ryegrass, poultry, fish, pigs, animals, sheep, silkworms, grasses , Important cereals, tobacco, cotton, cruciferous crops, orchids, chrysanthemums, Chinese rose, lawn, Japanese knotweed, ornamental plants, flax, eucalyptus, forest trees, poplars, etc.
(Note: Abstract items such as fruit trees, forest trees, animals, poultry, Brassica plants, vegetables, and important cereals are all taken from the topic of the thesis.
These papers date from 2000-2009, most of which were before 2008 and were all made by Chinese experts. Obviously, these are part of more than 100 genetically modified projects that China is currently researching and developing, but these alone have covered almost all of people's food.
From the perspective of the circulation of GM rice, corn, vegetables, fruits, etc., the process of all genetically modified foods entering the market is sneaky. Except for some soybean oil products, there are no genetically modified markers.
The Ministry of Agriculture has just announced that it has not approved the cultivation of GM crops. Hunan and Hubei have also discovered that the GM rice inspired by Huazhong Nongda Zhang was illegally sold in the market; and in 2005, Zhang citing GM rice was illegally sold and reported by Greenpeace and the media. At the time, “only in the grain market in Guangzhou, dozens of tons of genetically modified rice were sold to those Hong Kong and Taiwanese and private companies every day, so that the wage earners and migrant workers were unknowingly eaten.â€
In addition to genetically modified rice, genetically modified corn, soybeans, soybean oil, and some genetically modified vegetables and fruits have long been illegally circulated in the market. Most of them have no genetically modified signs. Guangxi's genetically modified maize brand also deliberately deceived consumers with the sign of hybrid corn.[3] The tofu that Beijingers eat is almost always made from genetically modified soybeans (without any marking), and most of the soybean oil is genetically modified.
Therefore, the follow-up operations of these more than 100 genetically modified projects will inevitably remain the same – sneaking and deliberately deceiving consumers. Until the flood of genetically modified foods is over, people will completely lose their right to choose not to eat genetically modified organisms. Flicker promotion GM on the Internet actually claimed that “it will not take long, GM will gain a firm foothold in the market, you do not have to eat in addition to genetic modification.†This guy does not play from the move, unconsciously exposed the cards. This is not just the promotion of genetically modified organisms. Instead, it is for the purpose of transgenes to gain a firm foothold and deprive the entire world of the right to not eat genetically modified organisms. Eating natural foods is not only the most basic human right to life, but also the natural right of all living beings. In history, there has never been a (national) ruler who has dared to challenge the right to life in the world. Our interest groups have made it so that they can use it to be stunned. It is unprecedented.
At present, to what extent is the proliferation of genetically modified foods, and how many genetically modified foods are or are entering the market? I am afraid that even those who are behind the GM can hardly make it clear. In the current chaos of law and discipline, its actual severity must be beyond our current knowledge. (It may even exceed our imagination.) China's lack of minimum food safety is an indisputable fact!
In this situation, Shanghai will soon hold an Expo. Shanghai is not a paradise, and its food safety supervision is not necessarily stronger than other places. Therefore, the illegal proliferation of genetically modified foods will certainly make people lose a sense of food safety, thus jeopardizing the success of the World Expo.
I have no preference for the World Expo. However, since I have spent so much money and spent so much effort on human and material resources, things should only be done instead of being handled. Therefore, the Shanghai authorities should seize the opportunity of the World Expo to rapidly improve the food safety supervision system and regulations, make all genetically modified foods clear and affixed with labels, so that people can truly rest assured that eating is a top priority.
Apart from the current World Expo, Shanghai has a large number of Taiwanese businessmen and foreign businessmen who have stayed for a long time. This is also true of major cities in the country. It does not mean that the Expo and Taiwanese businessmen are more important than the masses of the people. But even strict food safety supervision over consideration of the World Expo and international exchanges is a good thing for the benefit of the people. Rebuilding people’s sense of food safety at the very least is conducive to exposing the World Expo and international exchanges to the outside world. It also wins people’s hearts, resolves conflicts, and maintains stability.
Regardless of which aspect, there is no minimum sense of food safety that always does not work. Therefore, strict regulation of food safety (including genetically modified) safety regulations and laws as soon as possible is a bottleneck that is imminent and unrecognisable.
